Congregants of Temple Brith Sholom will bring Garth Fagan Dance to the Center for the Arts of Homer.
Garth Fagan Dance is an internationally acclaimed contemporary American dance company.
The company was founded over 50 years ago by Garth Fagan known around the world for his groundbreaking choreography of Broadway’s The Lion King, Fagan is widely acknowledged as one of the most dynamic and original artists working in the field of dance today – architect of a distinct new movement style, creator of over 75 works for theater and the concert stage, inspired teacher, and the man who transformed Rochester, NY into an incubator for world-class contemporary dance.
Among the dancers performing with the troupe will be Ethan Beckwith Cohen grandson of Homer resident Linda Frank (Cohen).
Garth Fagan Dance has been called a “…true New York treasure.” The troupe’s technique marries the gravity of modern dance, the vitality of Afro-Caribbean movement, and the speed and precision of ballet with the risk-taking experimentation of post modernism. Adults and children alike will be thrilled with the performance. This is a fundriaising event for Temple Brith Sholom. Join us at the Center for the Arts for an extraordinary performance.
