Based in her hometown of Tully, NY, Lana Stafford is a flautist and flute lesson instructor with degrees in flute performance (BM, MM) from SUNY University at Buffalo.

As a freelancer in the Syracuse area, she plays in the Society for New Music and the newly-formed Syracuse Chamber Orchestra. She has also appeared with the Hamilton College Orchestra, Breadcrumbs Productions, and other local and regional presenters. She will be featured on Civic Morning Musicals’ Sunday LIVE! Series in Musique de Chambre pour flûtes, cordes, harpe et piano in the 2022-23 season.

Her flute students range in age from 5th grade to retired, and she taught collegiately as the Flute Teaching Assistant at her university. Besides teaching and performing, Lana is the administrative assistant at Society for New Music. Lana has managed the Symphoria Youth Orchestras (2 seasons) and UB Summer Strings program (5 seasons); interned at the Skaneateles Festival and Symphoria; and served as a member of the Board of Directors at Central New York Association of Music Teachers, Civic Morning Musicals, and Society for New Music.
