We are a community of artists, art lovers, music makers, and creators. The Center for the Arts is well known for hosting national music concerts, but we also feature film screenings, a community theater program (Center Players) and showcase artwork by regional, national, and international visual artists in the art gallery. The Center also hosts classes, workshops and programs throughout the year, and adds to the economic vitality of Central New York.
FAQ
Q: I’M DRIVING IN FROM OUT OF TOWN. WHERE CAN I PARK MY CAR?
A: Please reserve the front parking lot on Main Street for Handicapped Accessible parking
(you must have your tag displayed)
There are two public parking lots in the Village of Homer. One is located behind the Homer grocery store, and the other is located near Heritage Realty. There is no parking in these lots from 2:00am – 6:00am.
- Prohibited parking is posted with clearly understandable signs throughout the Village. You may park on the street, just pay attention to the signs.
- PLEASE DO NOT PARK IN FRONT OF NEIGHBOR'S DRIVEWAYS, GARAGES, OR OTHER PRIVATE ACCESS POINTS. You will be ticketed or towed with no warning.
- There is an additional lot located BEHIND the American Legion (across the street from the Center) - only park BEHIND the American Legion, as this is an active veteran club.
Q: I BOUGHT TICKETS THROUGH OTHER, SECONDARY MARKET SOURCES (IE., “SCALPERS” ONLINE OR IN PERSON) – ARE MY TICKETS LEGITIMATE?
A: The Center for the Arts of Homer DOES NOT ENDORSE USING ANY SECONDARY TICKETING SOURCES. Our Box Office cannot resolve any issues involving them, such as lost tickets or bogus tickets. Tickets for all of our shows are sold through TIXR, by phone, or in person at the Box Office at 72 S. Main St. Homer, NY.
Tickets are sometimes available through fan club sites as pre-sales or special VIP packages. Center for the Arts reserves the right to cancel ticket transactions that are suspected of being purchased for the sole purpose of reselling.
Third party “ticket resale” web sites create the illusion that they have “special access” to the best seats in the house, or that they are authorized sellers for The Center for the Arts, but all they do is purchase tickets from The Center or private individuals and resell them at inflated prices. None of the price markup benefits the theater or the artist, who were the entities that put up the money and the time and the energy to create the show in the first place, and the Center for the Arts of Homer cannot confirm that tickets purchased from anywhere other than TIXR directly are valid.
Q. HOW MANY TOTAL SEATS DOES THE CENTER FOR THE ARTS HAVE?
A. The Center for the Arts of Homer has 400 seats.
Q. ARE SHOWS AT THE CENTER FOR THE ARTS OF HOMER RESERVED SEATED OR GENERAL ADMISSION?
A. The Center for the Arts of Homer accommodates General Admission (GA) seating. General Admission (GA) refers to seating or standing areas that are not assigned or reserved, and are occupied on a first-come, first-served basis.
Q. WHERE CAN I BUY TICKETS TO SHOWS? DO YOU HAVE A BOX OFFICE?
A. Tickets for the Center for the Arts shows can be purchased online (TIXR), over the phone at (607) 749-4900 or in person at the Center for the Arts Box Office (72 S. Main St. Homer, NY)
Box Office hours are from Tuesday through Friday from 10 AM to 4PM. On show days the facility opens at 6:00pm.
Q. WHAT’S UP WITH THE SERVICE CHARGES? HOW CAN I AVOID THEM?
A. The Center for the Arts of Homer is a small, not-for-profit organization with limited ability to cover all ticket transactions. Like most theaters our size, we work with an outside ticketing company that charges a service fee to help defer the costs of providing this service. The charges do include a facility fee to help offset the cost of maintaining our historic facility - so consider your fees as also supporting our non-profit mission.
Q. WHAT IS YOUR REFUND POLICY?
A. Refunds or exchanges are not permitted for any tickets purchased unless the headliner cancels the show. If a show is rescheduled, the new date will be posted to this website and your ticket for the original show will be honored at the rescheduled date. If a show is cancelled and no make-up date is announced then the ticket is refundable. The refund will happen automatically if you purchased with a credit card. If you paid with cash or check, please call the Box Office (607) 749-4900.
Q. WHERE DO I PICK UP MY WILL CALL TICKETS?
A. All Will Call tickets can be picked up at our Box Office at 72 S. Main St. Homer, New York.
Tickets are available for pick-up at 6:00pm on the day of the show, or during our regular office hours. Please be prepared to provide government-issued photo identification and the credit card that was used to purchase the tickets.
Q. CAN I GIVE MY TICKETS TO SOMEONE ELSE?
A. Government-issued photo ID will be required to receive tickets at the Will Call Desk, and only the ticket-purchaser can pick up Will Call Tickets. If you plan to give your tickets to someone else, call us first to confirm and we will make arrangements with you.
Q. CAN MY TICKETS BE SCANNED FROM MY PHONE?
A. Yes! As long as the screen isn’t cracked, your tickets can most likely be scanned from your phone. Just make sure to zoom in on the bar codes and turn the brightness all the way up on your device. However, be certain to have your Ticket Order number as backup in case the bar code is not able to be scanned.
Q. WHAT ARE THE AGE BREAKDOWNS FOR YOUR TICKET PRICES?
A. SENIOR priced tickets are for people 60 years of age and older.
MILITARY/VETERAN priced tickets are available by visiting our box office or calling 607-749-4900, and for anyone who has a valid I.D. – one ticket per Active Military Member or Veteran at special, reduced rates.
We also have MEMBER rates for Members of the Center for the Arts.
Q. MAY I RESELL MY TICKET IF I CANNOT USE IT?
A. You may resell your ticket for the face value of it. The Center for the Arts of Homer does not condone the secondary sale of tickets for a value exceeding the purchase price and reserves the right not to do business with any individual known to engage in this practice.
Q. WHY ARE THERE TICKETS AVAILABLE ON OTHER WEBSITES?
A. The Center for the Arts Box Office and our official ticketing provider TIXR, are the only authorized ticket sellers for shows presented at this venue.
We do not provide tickets to other sellers.
Tickets purchased from other sources are purchased at your own risk. We urge patrons to purchase tickets through us only as tickets available on other web sites are usually sold by ticket scalpers who charge inflated prices. By purchasing through us, you are assured that the ticket you receive is valid and is being sold to you at face value.
When you buy from someone other than The Center for the Arts of Homer:
We cannot guarantee that your tickets are genuine.
You may pay more than face value.
We cannot replace lost or stolen tickets.
We cannot contact you with information on show cancellations, time changes, other performance updates, upcoming shows or other useful information.
You are supporting businesses that make it harder for true fans to see their favorite performers without paying a premium charge.

Occasionally, non-professional cameras are permitted as long as NO FLASH is used during the performance. You can inquire about the photo policy on day-of-show by calling the Box Office. Professional audio or video recording is only permitted with prior approval by the artist or their management.
