Creative Wednesdays

The Center for the Arts of Homer welcomes artists of all media to a community art studio. Shared “studio” space is available from 1:00 to 2:30pm on Wednesday afternoons.

“It’s an open-art studio model for the visual arts, very similar to Open Mic for musicians” says Center for the Arts director Ty Marshal. “I can envision a few painters setting up their easels next to a couple of quilters, sharing a table with a poet, some knitters and a sketch artist who wants to hone their skills in a community setting. Hopefully we can create some creative synergy!”

Project planners Jane O’Shea and Lynn Olcott agree. “Everyone is creative. And it’s fun and inspiring to work on art together.”

Creative Wednesdays is held at the Center for the Arts at 72 South Main Street in Homer in the Gallery at the Center for the Arts.

There is no charge to participate.

Artists should bring all of their own materials. And bring a friend!
