Make a Luma

Come to Area 51 in Cortland to make Rosalina’s buddy, Luma, by hand! Local artist and cosplayer Crow Goyette will guide attendees through the process of making a plushie Luma. Lumas may or may not have special powers. Admission is by donation.

Paint and Sip

Join watercolor artist and seamstress Louise Felker at the Center for the Arts for an Autumn outdoor Paint-and-Sip. Attendees will use watercolor to paint a pumpkin, with wine and beer available for purchase. Proceeds from the event, which is $15, will go towards the Summer Shakespeare in the Park program, which Louise directs.

Ghost Garlands

Make some Halloween decor with Creative Services Coordinator Lily Byrne using recycled materials! Attendees will learn to make mismatched ghost garlands using a variety of secondhand fabric. All ages are welcome, no experience necessary. All materials are provided, and it will be held at the Center for the Arts gallery.

Crystal Necklaces

Join local sculpture artist Pam Jenkins at the Center for the Arts gallery for an evening of wire-wrapping crystals. Attendees can choose from amethysts, lapis, quartz, citrine, malachite, blue topaz or lemon quartz. Pam will teach the method of viking knitting to make handwoven chains.

Gamer Greeting Cards

A greeting card from a store is a nice gesture, but a handmade one means so much more. Join
Cazenovia-based card-maker Kathi M. Davis, owner of Stampin’ Up!, for a gamer-themed card-making session at Area 51!
Attendees will walk away with three gamer-themed greeting cards. No experience necessary, and all ages are welcome!

Pumpkin Decorating Party

Join Creative Services Coordinator Lily Byrne at the Center for the Arts for a creative free-for-all pumpkin-decorating party! Attendees can decorate one pumpkin or two small for $15, and use a buffet of paint, stickers, glitter and trinkets to decorate. Drinks will be available for purchase.

Join Lily Byrne, Creative Services Coordinator for the Center for the Arts, at Area 51 for a paint night of self-portraits… but Mii style. We will be firing up Mii-maker, making Miis, and creating Nintendo-style self-portraits. Admission is by donation, no experience necessary. All ages welcome.
